Laulības līgums ir līgums, ar ko laulātie nodibina, groza vai izbeidz savas laulāto mantiskās attiecības (par laulāto mantu, kas jau ir un kas vēl būs), un to var slēgt gan pirms laulības, gan pēc tās. Laulības līgums ir jāslēdz pie notāra (tas ir notariāls akts, par ko jāmaksā valsts nodeva), klātesot abiem laulātajiem. Svarīgi atcerēties, ka laulības līgums paredz tikai laulāto mantas apvienošanas vai sadales kārtību, bet ne citas materiālās saistības vai pienākumus gadījumā, ja laulība tiek šķirta. Laulības līguma noslēgšana neietekmē mantošanas tiesības – laulātais vienmēr mantos otra laulātā mantu.
